Man and Himself
You were here long before I saw the blood red sky
I crawled behind your footsteps in aggravation
Knowing you as the older master after all
People praised your words for you were their prophet
You shone even if there was no hope in sight
Lead the public through the mine fields of destruction
But you left without a word to me or your people
And man kind forgot all that you have done and said
I defended you against the masses of non believers
Non believers because they erased you from existence
Falling head first into defeat most of the time
One man cannot fight the world, where are you?
Now I am standing in front of the endless sea
Doubting every single word you have ever uttered
Humming that irritable noise that once put me to sleep
Swallowed by the ocean to be forgotten just as you were
Alone, lost and engulfed by the death all have feared
Words rush into my soul as if I were alive yet again
And you tell me in a whisper so soft that it crushes the universe
“No, you are not a man, merely a helpless boy”
