Aspiring Writers Spring Edition 2007
Glass Machine

I channeled all my rage into a glass machine

I didn’t realize I was so breakable

Until my foot caught the rock in front of me

I may have tripped, but I’ve not fallen

I simply reached the line

I stand up and wait to hear them calling

Angels catch me every time

I wish that I could thank them

So I thank the Lord instead

For treating me with sympathy

When I thought the world was dead to me

This narrow road is slow

But its path knows where to go.

Much but better than the wide divide

That loses me each time I try

To conquer every part of life

In four walls on my own.

We all need guidance from above

Our lives are written in God’s book with Love

If only I would knock, seek, ask

Maybe then I would not be made of glass.
